Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?" I'm dissatisfied about so many things, but I want to change what I can. I want to do for others what needs to be done in order to see my dreams, which are not that different from Dr. King's, fulfilled. In that vein, I have begun developing a website for my community.
The website will be driven by user content, and it's intent is to serve as a tool to connect our community. Firstly, I will begin with my neighbors, the people who live in the same building I do. Next, I will reach out to nearby organizations and neighbors. And finally, I will try to reach the broader community in the city council district I live in. I believe technology can bring efficiency to community endeavors and can create strong, lasting, and useful bonds between all of the members of our community.
I don't know exactly what this website will be or will do, because I intend to let it evolve with the input of the community. This is not my website, but our website. It's just a tool that I hope will be useful and productive.
